Sevanavank Monastery A historic 9th-century monastery perched on a rocky peninsula above Lake Sevan. Founded by Princess Mariam, it is renowned for its two dark-stone churches, dramatic mountain setting and breathtaking views across one of Armenia’s most iconic landscapes.

Noratus — home to Armenia’s largest surviving medieval khachkar cemetery, with hundreds of intricately carved stone crosses dating from the 9th to the 17th centuries. Set near Lake Sevan, it offers a remarkable glimpse into Armenia’s medieval artistic and spiritual heritage.

Hayravank Monastery A secluded medieval monastery overlooking Lake Sevan, known for its distinctive stone architecture and peaceful setting. Its simple medieval churches, ancient khachkars and panoramic views over the lake make it one of Sevan’s most atmospheric hidden gems.

Sevan National Park surrounds much of Lake Sevan and protects its unique alpine ecosystem, including wetlands, forests and diverse birdlife. It offers beautiful opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, swimming and enjoying the changing landscapes around Armenia’s largest lake.

Mount Azhdahak is a 3,597-meter volcanic peak in the Geghama Mountains, famous for the small crater lake at its summit. The challenging hike passes through vast alpine landscapes, ancient petroglyphs and remote mountain scenery, making Azhdahak one of Armenia’s most rewarding high-altitude adventures.

The northeastern shore of Lake Sevan is one of the lake’s most scenic areas, where the water meets the rugged slopes of the Areguni Mountains. With quiet beaches, small villages and sweeping views across the lake, it offers a more peaceful side of Sevan away from the busier southern shore.
